Technical Information
Micron depth filters,
manufactured by Micropure, filter faster and more efficiently than any
other spa filter on the market. Hot tub manufacturers like Arctic
Spas have tested and recommended these filters for the past 5 years. 3M
Corporation has also completed independent tests with outstanding results
than can be seen below.
The effectiveness of filtration is based on 2
standards; Micron Rating (the size of particles that can be filtered) and
Efficiency (the percentage of particles above a certain size that are
caught by the filter). Micron disposable filters have a significantly better
rating in both micron and efficiency.

* Micron Rating: The smaller the number, the
smaller the particles that will get filtered out.
** The micron rating and efficiency of a pleated filter will decrease further
after the first cleaning.
***Micron filters will filter out significantly more weight of debris before
becoming saturated.
Directions for use:
- Place filter in hot tub and don't check filter for at least 2
months.
- The filter will start to discolor from the outside in. When you can not see
any white in the center of the filter, it is time to replace.
- Expansion of the filter material is normal as it absorbs and removes debris -
filtration improves as it expands.
- Do not use defoamers, clarifiers, cleaners, enzymes, stain and scale
mineral removers or descummer chemicals. These chemicals are not necessary with
Micron filters and will reduce the life of the filter because the filter will
absorb these oils. If a spa already has these chemicals in the water, it is
recommended to change the water before switching to Micron disposable filters.
- Do not clean or rinse filter - simply replace when it is full. Micron filters
have been tested to last up to 5 months for low bather loads, but it is
recommended to replace after 3 months for optimal filtration.
